Hear me out — it really is the year of the Linux desktop
The punchline finally ran out. The reasons you were waiting are gone, and the platforms you've been on are getting worse. This is the nudge.

Lead with empathy
Start with understanding and active listening. Good questions expose assumptions, challenge biases, and reveal the truth.
Community compounds
The friends, family, coworkers, and customers who support, guide, and keep you honest and grounded are what carry you through. Remember to pay it forward.
Own your craft
Work to understand every layer. Skill, curiosity, and playfulness (even in the age of AI) compound in ways that matter. The fundamentals are still important to ensure your tools serve you well.
Trust and cohesion are the multiplier
Trust creates the conditions for great work. High-functioning teams have ownership, autonomy, and a shared sense of direction.
Purpose driven
The best work is human-centered, anchored in the problem and the people it affects. Life is short, build stuff that matters.
Forward, deliberately
The edge moves fast. Protecting your time, focus, and health helps maintain a sustainable rhythm, and a longer view of the horizon.
AI-forward, hands-on technical leader with over 25 years of experience building software products and engineering teams from the ground up. Currently co-founder at LEANSTACK, where we build AI-powered tools to help startup founders navigate from idea to product-market fit.
I've spent my career at the intersection of technology, product, and people where constraints enforce focus. I've led engineering at a VC-backed fintech startup, built an accessible marketplace platform in support of the deaf community, and led teams shipping best-in-class cybersecurity software used by enterprise organizations across the world.
My Approach
Software is fundamentally about people so I start with the customer and the why. Most engineering failures aren't technical, and are often the result of teams building the wrong thing with great confidence. Working alongside Ash Maurya has sharpened how I think about this: his Continuous Innovation framework, the Lean Canvas, and structured customer discovery have become the lens through which I approach every new product decision. Get in front of users, sell the demo, make your customers an offer they can't refuse. Speed of learning is a competitive advantage.
Cohesive, high-functioning teams with lots of autonomy and a clear sense of ownership — those are the ingredients for success. Whether leading or embedded as a senior engineer, my focus is always on the needs of the team.
Relentlessly Forward
AI has changed everything. I leverage these new tools daily and have developed a real intuition for where LLMs create strong returns, and where they can create real risk. Shipping AI in production requires a different approach: a deep curiosity and a flexible mindset as the contours of these tools change constantly.
Building and deploying RAG pipelines, multi-step workflows, and agents has sharpened my understanding. Staying at the edge of this wave requires constant adaptation. I lean into that daily. What's become clear is that the creative surface has fundamentally shifted, and I want to help push purpose-driven development forward with teams building inside that future.
The punchline finally ran out. The reasons you were waiting are gone, and the platforms you've been on are getting worse. This is the nudge.
ReadThe startup world is obsessed with unicorns. Most founders — especially minority, rural, and first-generation founders — find themselves on a different path. It's time to talk about a different kind of builder, and a different kind of dream.
